Hi all,
I'm seeing something I don't understand here. I'm using spaces and have adium running in one space and firefox in another. Now, I can only switch to adium when I'm in the same space as adium. But I can switch to Firefox from any space. How can this be?
It would be nice to be able to only switch between apps in the same space if possible.
Please note that I'm a Mac newbie, I got my first Mac yesterday.
Thanks, - Jacob

As said in our Frequently Asked Question Salmagundi we'll release a new version of Witch, giving full support for Spaces, as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.

I apologize for being too stupid to read the FAQ before asking questions Looking forward to the new release. Thanks.

I apologize for being too stupid to read the FAQ before asking questions The only stupid question is the one you don't ask, so you can't be stupid.

Eagerly awaiting Leopard + Spaces version. Would be nice to have an option to only switch between windows in the active space or all windows in all spaces. I'm an ex-Linux user... I like configurability...

I'm also a big fan of witch, and similarly cannot wait for spaces support (specifically, switching windows only within a space).

Witch 2.0 is out, and windows from non-active spaces still aren't showing up. Shame.

I also just noticed the Spaces thing. I paid for the application thinking this was fixed, but it's a real deal-breaker for me.

OK, it looks like Witch 2.0 only displays windows from other spaces when that application is hidden. Unhidden applications in the non-active space do not show up. Of course, having to hide applications in other spaces before switching largely defeats the purpose of using spaces in the first place.

In case others haven't seen it, from http://www.manytricks.com/blog/?id=38: [...] there's one feature we really wanted to add, but couldn't: full spaces support. Witch appears in all of your spaces now, but it remains agnostic of which space a given window is in. We just haven't found a reliable way to gain that piece of information yet -- it's as if the mighty Apple doesn't want applications to know which space they live in.

The still doesn't explain the problem above. According to that, Witch should be able to list all Windows, regardless of their spaces - it doesn't need to know which space a particular window is in…

Unhidden applications in the non-active space do not show up. In Witch 1.0.2, with "Show an Activate item for windowless/hidden application" checked in the Behaviors tab, triggering the "All applications" hotkey shows every window from every running application in every space. It just seems to treat any window in a different space as "hidden," whether or not it's really hidden in its space, but all that does is put the word "Activate" before the title. So if Witch 2.0 only lists truly hidden applications in non-active spaces, that sounds like a regression. Access to applications in other spaces should remain supported, even if full support for spaces is not possible or still to come.

Checking that option in Witch preferences on 2.0 shows applications for every space, but ONLY the application, not the windows within that app. For example, If I have six windows in Mail open in another space and I hit the all application hotkey, I will only see one entry labeled "activate Mail" - I won't be able to select any of the Windows within Mail (i.e., just like command-Tab).
I have emailed the developer at least three times regarding this and other issues I am having with Witch 2.0, but have not received any responses. Very unprofessional. Switching to the shareware model for an app does mean certain obligations on the part of the developer, and one of the big ones is providing customer support for paid products. The developer continues to post blog updates, so I know he's around. I really don't recommend paying for Witch in this point in time.
